After 24 hours of using GetMusic and some very modest promoting, 23 people have downloaded a copy of my album, "Who Goes There?" I was very enthused to see almost all the users were new. In addition to the downloads, I've also been receiving more streams than I usually do; very cool!
We’ve used GetMusic on 3 releases now and every single time it has resulted in many more followers. They may not always translate into more sales - but you are in all those peoples collections and they are all on your messaging list for notifications about future releases etc. We regard it as an investment for the future - to build up your list of followers and raise awareness of what you do. Chuck (who interfaces with the artists) is a really nice guy and will always try to accommodate any requests you have for promotions and new merchandise releases etc. He has done loads for us and his intervention often results in increased plays on our Bandcamp page. The news of the offer of promoting free downloads at no cost is a godsend to struggling bands and is an excellent idea I our opinion - it means we can now afford to offer free downloads of “singles” to promote upcoming releases. Keep up the good work - GetMusic definitely gets The Crabs Commendation!
I'm really glad that I did this now. I've got the most daily Bandcamp streams that I've ever had, plus 20 download code redemptions so far today, and a load of new followers.
May I say I am thrilled with the results with GET MUSIC! In less than 3 weeks my Bandcamp follower count has risen by 86%, I've received hundreds of additional streams I otherwise wouldn't have. Further, it appears there's been a knock-on with a spike in Spotify activity also, presumably punters who utilise both platforms. In even less time my old band THE GELS has received a 114% rise in Bandcamp followers and generated real sales. I wasn't sure what to expect when I joined GET MUSIC, but I certainly wasn't expecting this. It's a staggering result.
I honestly cannot remember how I functioned as an indie artist without GetMusic. In fact, the site does so much of the work for me, I've actually let my other promotional activities slide! For a long time I was a "Free" or "Pay What You Want" artist, but had little traction. Even though listeners getting codes through GetMusic is still technically free, there's a psychological reward when cashing tokens for music you'd normally pay for. Just by offering codes through GetMusic, my listeners have grown by 70% or more. Along with providing links to song downloads, GetMusic is constantly popping up on the socials with graphics of new releases, either solo or grouped with other new tracks. I myself am often drawn to new music thanks to these arresting graphics. GetMusic's stats are also great for reposting and reminding listeners of your newest tracks or albums. Along with Bandcamp, GetMusic is an essential tool for the indie artist.
This site is cool. It just has Bandcamp download codes for tons of new albums that bands upload themselves. It's great for finding new songs, getting valid codes, and building up a Bandcamp if you're an artist.
I'm delighted with my initial results from GetMusic. In less than a week, I've gained 24 followers & a handful have even purchased my discography.
I used GetMusic to build the Bandcamp fanbase a bit in advance of my next album release. I made 100 codes available and shared this across X and FB groups. All codes were gone in under a week, I sold more physical copies in a day than ever before and grew the fan base. Win!
@GetMusicfm is the reason why I discovered this community. Not only are they getting music out there and visible, they are bringing people together!
