Bit Cloudy
The Visitation Plays

From the warped, psyched out almost-techno of 'Tension Hex' to the creamy and elegiac 'Estuary Bolts', 'The Visitation Plays' is a dark and beautiful collection of uncategorisable experimental electronica, full of rich and subtle sonic detail. The album draws obliquely on post rock, techno, psychedelic pop, acid house, serial composition and trip hop.

Trademarks of the BC sound include a dizzying array of soft synth lines interweaving over detailed and unpredictably programmed percussion, and forays into odd time signatures and heavily processed disembodied snatches of human voices.

Largely made while reading scripts and biographies of the television playwright Dennis Potter, it is named for his nihilistic yet touching quasi-religious series of 70's plays in which unexpected visitors evoke or embody devils, angels or long lost children and become agents of psychological and spiritual transformation.
