With ʻSpiral Downʼ, the dark electronic duo (Reuben Bettsak and Bo Barringer) follow their propulsive and driving first single ʻIn Slow Motionʼ with a beat heavy, minimal and dynamic beast of a song. “The mess weʼre in feels like deep love” is at the root of the songʼs chorus. Why is love so complex? Why are relationships with the people we love the most, so difficult, yet so rewarding at the same time? The song explores some of these themes and explores both the pleasure and the pain at the heart of love.
