PRECARIOUS is a single improvised Facetoucher session cut into three sections. Listening to the recording, I noticed that it kind of formed, then collapsed, then formed, then collapsed, then formed once again, and dissolved one more time, and it got me thinking about cultures and empires and civilizations and societies form and then collapse, and how we got the teeniest glimpse of that potential for collapse when the world caught COVID, and that, really, we are one supervirus away from losing everything. But it also made me think about how, even though our society is precarious, from every collapse something new has grown, and that, like this piece of music, things can collapse and be rebuilt new, again and again and again.
