Nature of Wires
Dead to Me

Dead to Me is the first song to be written by Nature of Wires drummer Tim Powell-Tuck. Release date was Friday 9th May.

Tim actually sings on this one and it turns out he’s very good! Tim is great at shouty vocals too. We had a bit of fun changing the tone of Tim's voice to suit the style he was looking for, but no autotune was needed.

Tim says: “Dead to Me is my first attempt at songwriting. It began with a germ of an idea for a chorus, a few lyrics and a drum pattern in my head. Those ideas stayed in my head for a long time, years in fact, until I shared those ideas with Gary. I wrote some more lyrics and put an idea together for the verses. Gary then added his Nature of Watts production and further ideas were shared and it came together comparatively quickly. Dead to Me is part ghost story and part mourning for lost relationships that once meant so much, but now mean very little, or nothing. Thanks to Gary, my rudimentary ideas became a song and the end result is exactly how I hoped it would sound. Hope you like it.”

Dead to Me has been produced in the darker style of recent Nature of Wires releases. We're really pleased that we finally got round to recording Tim’s idea, which Gary first heard about several years ago when he and Tim were at an OMD gig in Liverpool together. It was a bit of fun and hopefully not the last time Tim will come up with an idea for a song.
