The Boy With The Greyhound Tattoo
Kingfisher

'Kingfisher' is lyrically focused on the worries that trouble us through life’s voyage as we strive for love, survival, and acceptance. Often we may reach to the natural world to offer solace, melancholic comfort, embracing escape and spiritual guidance which is reflected through the tapestry of this album. The Kingfisher itself is a colourful and evolutionary triumphant creature that correlates to our own aspirations towards the brightness of success and is, perhaps, an un-credited mentor to many of the protagonists within these ten tracks.

'Kingfisher' stems from a firm decision to combine acoustic guitar, reverb rich twang and simple piano lines with modern orchestral sounds and vintage synthesizers to explore some original textures. Drum machines and a live drummer were both utilised while the bass mostly stems from a Höfner violin bass. The album loosely falls into the chamber-pop genre although it is hoped some boundaries have been expanded with sprinkles of 80’s/90’s indie, electropop, classical orchestration and 20th Century Minimalism.
