Punk Against Fascism Collective
crust / rock urbano / oi! / street punk / thrash / hardcore punk / garage / punk rock / grunge / alternative
The Brazilian cast of the project is made up of artists such as ULTIMA CLASSE, who practice street punk with many reminiscences of Oi!'s music. On the national scene, we find the Cordoba band PATXANGOI! in a very similar vein. The album opens with the punk rock group, LA PILA PUNK, with his emblematic song "Ponte a lucha" and that would also appear in the vinyl and CD split"The Beauty Full Monsters".
It's worth noting that each band contributes two songs. This makes for a fairly complete album with twenty tracks and twenty committed messages against any kind of fascism or oppression. There are five bands sponsored by each collective. The Spanish-German punk rock band with diverse influences from horror punk, post-punk, and crust: THE CASTRO ZOMBIES & THE MUTANT PHLEGM. Some of its members had a failed attempt at returning to the stage, hence their inclusion in the compilation; at the same time, they participated in El Notes #6, published between the summer and spring of 2017. The most lively musical comic magazine in the punk galaxy. Even at the same time as the publication of this "Punk Contra O Fascismo" in March 2018, a compilation appeared containing the group's most recognizable titles that were ever recorded, entitled "Smashes, Punkies and Shits." Returning to the "carioca" artists, JOE, It is a lifelong punk band, which curiously, will close the album with the disturbing song "Morfina". GUERRA URBANA, It's another powerful punk offering from Brazil. In fact, punk will be the common thread, as the compilation's generic title already hints. JARREA! puts the most punk rock accent on the Spanish side, along with those mentioned above LA PILA PUNK. In both cases, they are not limited to just making punk, but also draw from other styles such as ska, urban rock, blues... In a similar vein, we find Brazilian bands ATOX and O LEOPARDO. Although the latter puts much more emphasis on ska music as evidenced by the great theme "Rude Boy Blitzkrieg". PESTE Y MIERDA, brings his raw punk with strong "eskorbutina" influences and we are pleased to finally be included on a split or compilation album in which we participate Collector's Series DIY.
