From minimal house DJ to psychedelic groove creator, 07.2025 crafts hypnotic instrumental soundscapes blending Eastern & Western influences in unexpected ways.

INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND

I release music under the name 07.2025, with Zherav as my producer pseudonym. I'm based in New Zealand and make instrumental music that blends Eastern & western psychedelia, hypnotic rhythms, analog textures, and raw guitar tones.

I started out DJing and producing minimal house - throwing events and playing sets across Aotearoa. Over time, I stepped away from club music and started building something more stripped back and personal.

The shift came during a long stretch of isolation. Everything stopped, and the noise fell away. 07.2025 started as a way to reconnect. No vocals, no formulas, just groove and tone.

MUSICAL IDENTITY

The sound lives between psychedelic groove, global influences, and slow-building instrumental jams. Think Gitkin, Glass Beams, or BALTHVS - same orbit, different texture.

The vibe is minimal but layered. I focus on rhythm and feel, loose percussion, warped textures, tape hiss, spring reverb. I leave space on purpose.

Most tracks start from a loop or a drum pattern. I jam on guitar, synths, drum machines etc and run sounds through pedals and FX, and build from there. Nothing's over-planned and the tracks come together like sketches that never fully explain themselves.

CURRENT WORK

My debut release is a three-track EP called /ZHERAV.1/. It opens with "Z1", a slow intro, moves into the lead single "NAJA", and closes with "BAZAAR", the heaviest and most rhythm-focused of the three.

It was inspired by desert imagery, market noise, long walks, and that feeling of being slightly lost, but moving forward anyway.

The main challenge was knowing when to stop. I wanted the recordings to feel alive, not perfect. I kept the mistakes in. That's where the energy is.

PROMOTION & ENGAGEMENT

I don't follow a strategy. I just put things out how they feel - visuals that match the sound, video loops, strange little clues. I post when I've got something worth showing.

The response has been real. Listeners finding it naturally, sharing it, passing it on. Some unexpected support has led to a new collaboration I'm working on with someone whose work I've respected for a long time. That one means a lot.

I also currently have my next single in the final stages and I'm building a live set that blends DJ flow with guitar and FX. No mic, no hype — just sound in motion.
