The Mother Root reflects on significant milestones in the duo’s lives, namely marriage, life at home, and approaching your late twenties.

The album navigates through moments of anxiety about self-worth (Flowers,Anther), moments of strength found through companionship (Gumley, Great Oak), and the moments in everyday life that have a lasting impact and make us who we are (Home Again, Glow).

More hopeful and optimistic than their previous releases, the record finds Harper celebrating the transformative power that can be found in
everyday moments and the significance of family and friendship.

Harper, comprised of Matthew and Sadie Groves, are a bedroom-pop duo from Leicester, UK. Matthew and Sadie began making music in the winter of 2021, recording in their spare room.

Since the release of their first track 'us now' in February 2022, they have gone on to release two EPs (hope and spider) and have made appearances on compilations from Start Track along the way.
